The Ndaw Wune Vacances (NWV) program, designed and implemented by ARED in
in partnership with local communities and educational authorities, offers
during the school vacations. Its aim is to support students
in strengthening their basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics.
Areas of operation :
● 05 Education and Training Inspectorates (IEF) in 03 Academies
(Kaolack, Matam, Diourbel).
● 06 local authorities involved.
Main results :
● 2,375 beneficiary pupils in 93 classes.
● 18 trainers and 93 tutors trained in the Ndaw Wune methodology.
● Organization of an educational day in each cluster.
● A capitalization workshop held in Dakar with mayors, IAs and IEFs, resulting in
signing partnership agreements with local authorities.
● 04 review days with local players and partners.
● A follow-up mission to ensure the effective start-up of the courses.
Pedagogical tools developed :
● A training module in bilingual didactics.
● A reading and mathematics booklet in Wolof, Pulaar and Seereer for the
CP and CE1 levels.
● A complete teaching guide for teachers and tutors.
● A book of stories and a collection of educational games to energize
learning.
● Reporting tools for supervisors and focal points.
