Action-Research: Measuring, Evaluating and Improving for a Sustainable Impact

Recherche-Action: ARED has a comprehensive research action and performance measurement approach to all innovations they introduce. For education programs in schools, ARED uses impact evaluations to assess student learning increases as compared to a standard classroom. This allows them to ensure that their innovations are showing impact and to demonstrate the effectiveness of these approaches to the Ministry of Education.

ARED has a monitoring and evaluation department which regularly collects data on the progress of their projects and reports back to ARED senior leadership on the results of the data collection and monitoring on the ground. Findings from these site visits are then used to make adaptations to improve the functioning of the interventions and their impact.

ARED also carries out fidelity assessments ARED also uses fidelity of implementation evaluations to verify that teachers, tutors, sch¬ool directors and staff are implementing programs as designed. It helps to identify weaknesses in on-the-ground implementation that are usually context-driven. With this information, ARED is able to review their approach and revise it to make it easier for effective implementation.
