ARED is committed to strengthening the educational and cultural capacities of communities in West Africa through the use of national languages. Our mission rests on three fundamental pillars:

📘 Education in local languages : Develop and distribute teaching resources adapted to local cultural and linguistic realities.
🌐 Educator training Supporting teachers and organizers through quality training to improve learning.
🤝 Community support Working with communities to strengthen their skills and promote their autonomy.

We believe that a flourishing society is based on valuing local languages and cultures, where every voice has the power to express itself and contribute to community development.

📖 Our History

ARED founded 1990

2020

Since the 1990s, it has emerged as a major organization promoting national languages, particularly Pulaar. It develops literacy programs and promotes national languages. Its actions have a strong resonance within Halpulaar communities.

A major upheaval with the death of founder Sonja F. Diallo.
This ushered in a phase of internal crisis, with a sudden break in funding, and an era of institutional instability.

The young animators who were part of the organization and had no relationship with the partners who funded ARED, decided to take over.
The commitment of this team, who worked for a long time without pay, has enabled ARED to be relaunched and renewed.

Organization in full renewal. Creation of a management team. Creation of ARED Africa. Gradual stability and diversification of business sectors.
