Pastoralism is one of ARED's core activities, with the aim of supporting pastoral communities in the valorization of their knowledge and the strengthening of their capacities. ARED works alongside breeders and local players to support equitable and sustainable resource management, in contexts marked by environmental, economic and social change.
In this project, ARED is involved in two major initiatives:
- ● The Support Project for Populations Affected by the Sahelian Crisis (APAC)
- ● The Economic Development Project for the Agro-Pastoral Sector and Common Governance of Territories (PROACT)
Our interventions focus on the training of facilitators, as well as on the facilitation and active participation in local workshops, with the goal of strengthening local capacities and promoting collective and sustainable management of natural resources in support of livestock management.
